Back in 2002, our founder Ben Plikerd was not a VOIP provider, he ran a small tech business that, of course, paid a phone bill each month. He had just four phone lines and no long-distance service. But every month, the bill from Sprint came in—$680. There was no explanation, no flexibility, and no one to call who actually cared. It was clear: small businesses were being overcharged and underserved.

So Ben did something about it. He started Indiana Telephone Network and became a VOIP provider to offer reliable phone service at honest prices. As technology evolved, he saw where things were heading. VoIP wasn’t just the future—it was the smarter, more scalable way forward.

Working alongside some of the top innovators in the industry, Ben developed a custom VoIP platform—not resold, not repackaged, but designed and built by ITN.
