Q: How does the wireless service work?
A: Our wireless services uses radio equipment that we mount on your
house or business to communicate with a radio tower. We have
transmitters and receivers on the radio tower that communicate with a
special radio at your location. We run a Ethernet cable from the radio
outside to your router or computer inside. When our installer leaves
everything is up and running on Indiana Telephone Network Broadband.
Q: The radio and equipment you place at my house/business how big is it?
A: Well that all depends on how far away you are from our tower. If you
are close we usally just mount a small little box about 2.5 inches by 10
inches high directly on the side of your building whichever faces our
tower. Sometimes we need to install a small pole to get higher on your
property. If you have an existing tower on your property we like to
install at the highest place on your property.
Q: How is the equipment installed?
A: We will make an appointment with you and arrive at your location
during the install time given. Once we arrive we will work as fast as
we can to complete the job. All wires to the best of our ability are
hidden from view and we only make holes into your building if needed.
The installer will work with you on the best location to install and he
will then inform you of where he will complete the installation. The
install process including hooking up to your router takes about 2 hours
sometimes longer sometimes shorter.
Q: Is the wireless unlimited or capped?
A: Yes it is unlimited and we only cap the internet speed based on the
package you are paying for. We do not limit the amount of data you can
download per month.
Q: How does heavy weather conditions affect my wireless signal?
A: In most cases heavy weather conditions do not affect wireless internet signals. Power outages is usually the biggest interruption in internet signals. Indiana Telephone Network is constantly upgrading its tower sites to run off of battery backup for up to three days without power.
Q: In heavy snow do I have to clean off my wireless radio?
A: No. There is no reason that snow should ever accumulate on the radio receiver.
